About New Jersey Wool Walk

What is the NJWW?
The New Jersey Wool Walk is an inclusive celebration of fiber lovers and needle crafters.

During this yearly event, participating yarn stores offer special events, discounts, designer appearances, book signings, and trunk shows. 

How to Wool Walk?
  • The 2024 NJWW begins on Wednesday, April 17th and ends on Sunday, April 21st.  Five days of browsing and shopping.
  • Wool Walkers purchase a passport for $6 to take part in the NJWW and to be eligible for store discounts.
  • Passports are purchased in-person at your LYS.
  • $1.00 from each passport benefits the Community Food Bank of NJ.
  • Get your Passport stamped by each store you visit during the walk. (No purchase is necessary to have your passport stamped.)
  • See the list of 2024 Stores and click here for individual extended store hours.
  • To create a travel plan, click on the Map tab and pick the stores you would like to visit. Click on their individual websites for store hours and special information.
  • At the last store you visit, turn in your stamped passport! Your passport will be used as your ticket to our prize drawings. The more stores you visit, the more stamps you get, the greater the prize you are eligible to win! See prize info below.
  • If you prefer to mail your passport after the NJWW, please mail by May 1st to: Irina Lester, The Local Yarn Store, 57 Academy St, South Orange, NJ 07079
  • Special notions are created each year to mark the event. This year there are sheep stitch marker holders and NJ stitch markers. (All in limited quantities)
  • A stitch marker is Free ONLY with a $35 dollar purchase or $3.00 if you just want to collect.

Grand Prize: $100 Gift Certificate to a participating store of your choice + a gorgeous shawl donated from Urth Yarn
2nd Prize:  $75 Gift Certificate to a participating store of your choice
3rd Prize: $50 Gift Certificate to a participating store of your choice
Door Prizes: Super fabulous surprise swag all along your walk!


How to Enter for prizes above:
For the Grand prize: visit and have your passport stamped at all 21 stores
For the 2nd prize: visit and have your passport stamped at 15 or more stores
For the 3rd prize: visit and have your passport stamped at 8 or more stores
Door prizes: visit and have your passport stamped at 1 or more stores

REMEMBER to turn your passport in at the last store you visit or mail it in to The Local Yarn Store, address above. ​

Prize winners will be notified no later than May 13th.
